MAGIC OF OZ - has been blooming.Plenty of scapes and buds.

MAKE IT SNAPPY - Shorter than typical scapes but lots of them and well budded.

MEAN GREEN WITH CLOWN PARADE behind it. MG always performs great here.

MOUNT ECHO SUNRISE - has been blooming for about 4 days. Really tall and well budded this year.That stick in the photo is my fortress against the deer.

PATTERN EVOLUTION - started blooming yesterday and exploded this morning. Scapes are shorter than normal but well budded.

PRETTY DESIRABLE - started 2 days ago. Just a good photo this morning and it is tall but could use a few more buds.

RIBBIT RIBBIT - always tall and well budded. Reminds me a lot of photos I see of Carolina Cool Down. It is a monster clump and this is only a fraction of it.

ROCKS CRY OUT - under performed this year. It started blooming abut 4 days ago but small blooms and minimal buds. Not a good season for it.

SKYHOOKS - has been blooms for almost 1 1/2 weeks already. Just a good overall daylily and still has many buds to open yet.

SCULPTED SEASHELLS - Short scapes and not many buds this year. I think it needs to be in a hotter climate than mine.

THUNDERCAT - Is out doing itself this year. Thanks to mantis for posting about this one. This is only a fraction of the amount of blooms it has put out today. Lots of scapes and buds. Could use a bit more height.

TILL THE END OF TIME - one of my favorites and it has been blooming for over a week. Still has many buds yet to open but could use some extra height this year.

WHAT'S UP DOWN SOUTH - always a great performer here and started this morning blooming.

Wow! You have a lot of nice multiples and clump shots for so early in your season. With so many short scapes in your garden, it's good to see Claudine's Charm and Jamie Dockery are their usual height. I do think Ribbit Ribbit looks a lot like Carolina Cool Down, and I suspect they are siblings. Both have Seedling X Bali Watercolor as parentage, and I suspect that Hanson seedling was what went on to become The Thin Air, which I grow. Fire on the Mountain is beautiful red clump that just glows. I think my favorites are Make It Snappy and All American Girl. Sculpted Seashells and Till the End of Time are pretty pinks too. In fact, I like pretty much everything you posted. I'm looking forward to more of your posts, now that my blooms are waning.

Wow, Julia, so many beauties here! I had to go back and check out all of the photos a few times. The two that stood out to me were Ribbit Ribbit and Pattern Evolution, such wonderful clumps. I’m looking forward to seeing more.

I will send your thoughts about SKYHOOKS. It is a great plant and a consistent performer.

Mine is about 48 inches tall this year. FIRE ON THE MOUNTAIN is also a fantastic plant and as Debra said, it glows. I really love the poly blooms of RAMBUNCTIOUS ROSY. Never heard of it. I will have to look it up. Thanks for posting. Hopefully we will get some rain this evening.

I always love your photos! Here, the foliage begins to grow so early it is almost as tall as the scapes when they bloom. Your blooms just shine above the foliage-even when on short scapes! I love all these-eager to see more. So pretty.

On a side note, how is your husband’s recovery coming along?

Thanks all. I don't get much time to post pics and today was a perfect day, even with the wind, and took some "me" time. . At least we got some rain late this afternoon and it has been raining on and off even this evening. Not a lot but thankful for any we get.

Julia, you blooms are beautiful and so many lovey clumps. It was so nice to see Mean Green and clown Parade blooming together since here, Clown Parade has been finished for a bit before Mean Green even starts to bloom. I ahave always liked your Ribbit Ribbit and it looks great as always. Pattern Evolution is such an intense and beautiful color. Pretty Desirable is another pretty color too. I like the look of Thundercat. Not a clinker in any of the photos.

This was a fun post and such a pretty one, Ju;lia. I haope everything is smoothing out now since you have had a not fun time for a while.

Beautiful multiples! I like All American Girl and Fire on the Mountain. We just added Thundercat this spring. I has bloomed, but it will be interesting to see it "all grown up".

Thundercat last year was way short, but this year was a showoff with good tall scapes. Many cultivars are shorter than usual, though most not dramatically so. Late spring freezes are the culprits. To me the bud count on Jamie Dockery and Till the End of Time is too low. I appreciate that you always show the scape clearly. I see several scapes on Jamie with only four buds. Even if I missed one or two, that is low. I don't know why the daylily world is infatuated with mug shots that hide bud count, branching, and so many important factors in plant habit.

Wow! Wow! I just go back and look, I like every one. I always admire Ribbit Ribbit, it always seems to do so well for you. Thundercat is on my list to get some time, nice to confirm it does good, and What's Up Down South too. Love Make it Snappy, had its 1st year for me and did really well.

You posted so many that they are all hard to take in at one time. Fire on the Mountain jumps out at me. I'll have to see what they say about the color holding.....Count It All Joy is a pretty pink as is All American Girl.......I'm sure I will come back and go over this a second time later on.........Maryl

Wow so many beauties and wonderful clumps! Love that bitone look of All American Girl, so pretty. Ha 2 polys together on R.Rosie look great. Love that picture of Ribbit Ribbit, it's a like a sea of blooms! Black Falcon Ritual and Jamie Dockery are beautiful dark purples.

I too noticed shorter scapes, and bud count in some cases is just too low this year. Yes, Intelligent Design opens early, I like that. I think maybe even starts opening at night, I think I looked once but don't remember. Isle of Patmos seems to be an EMO too.

Your Claudine's Charm and Intelligent Design always seem to flourish. I believe that Sherry too has good results with Claudine's Charm. Here, she is not as productive. Pattern Evolution especially caught my eye. I don't see that one posted much on sites. Your pics of All American Girl are tempting.

Such beautiful pictures and blooms! No way I could pick a favorite. Mantis, Claudine's Charm usually does really well here too.
