New cabinets installed on subfloor

I just had new cabinets installed and there was no plywood on the particle board subfloor. You can actually see daylight in places. Yet they just shimmed and installed the cabinets. I found a spot of black mold on one area and used peroxide shortly before cabinet people showed up. It seems wrong to not put something like plywood down and maybe a coating of something waterproofing before the cabinets were installed. Also the kitchen sink cabinet bottom is so high the plumbing is now under the cabinet right on the partle board. Mold is bound to happen

Looks like particle board which is"ok". What is underneath that? Should be a layer of plywood or OSB? Where is the daylight showing?

I dint think there is anything under the particle board. The new bottom of the sink cabinet is so high off the floor that the cooper pipes/ shut offs are now under the cabinet with a hole cut in the cabinet bottom. I looked down and can see daylight through the particle board around the pipes .The garage is underneath. My plumber, I would think, can raise the shut offs, but it doesn't seem right to me that there is no flooring but absorbent and not that thick particle board

no, there is no gm or other work being done, just new cabinets and countertop

the cabinet co says very common to be missing flooring under cabinets. they just shim. Just seems wrong to me

I hired a cabinet co. that measures and installs cabinets and replaces countertops for 16 years. They removed the old cabinets and replaced them in the same exact layout. No over priced gm is needed to replace cabinets. No load is being changed and no layout was even altered. I have been the gm for actual commercial construction projects for years. You seem to like to blame me for seeing missing flooring in the hour between old cabinets and new. I've had cabinets replaced before but have never seen 2 layers of missing flooring underneath and I don't like it. I wanted other peoples opinions who have encountered this situation or who have specific knowledge of this. You have neither and your complete lack of help and placing of blame is unwanted and the exact opposite of

That doesn't sound safe--do you keep vehicles in the garage? I would be worried about CO coming into the kitchen if a vehicle is left running.

The floors and subfloors obviously need to be rebuilt. Plus vapor sealed and insulated. The house is not built correctly and is not safe if you don’t have proper air sealing and insulation between the garage and living space. It should be fire rated drywall as well.

That’s an immediate concern. But that is not what a cabinet installer does. That’s what you, the GC, either does, or hires to be done. It should have been done directly after demolition, where there was nothing in the way to obstruct your view.
