I really like the netural wallpaper design I shared above and would love to slap it on more than one wall in the dining room but not sure I should or what other wall would compliment the room. Perhaps I'll just do the one wall and see where it goes from there. ;)

IMO an accent wall is decided after all othe elements you need are in the space , those 2 pieces by the window do not work for sure . Remove the 2 metal cahirs and IMO an accent wall is best done on a wall without doors or windows I would do drapes on the window and the wall paper if you still want it on the left wall. I would do something much bolder for an accent wall and get rid of the cowhide if you go in that direction then hang the other piece on the right wall and much lower.

IdaClaire, thank you! I mainly chose the hide rug well, 1. because I love it but 2. it cleans well espeically if things like wine, etc. spill. I also wanted something to jazz up the space. I'm ready to replace the drum light, but haven't found exactly what I want yet. I am also in search of a fun bar cabinet but it has to be the right size since the room is somewhat tight. Oh, I would agree, that needs to be done professionally and not DIY. It would be worth it, IMO.

I prefer accent walls to be those with no redeeming architectural features. I'd do the big wall instead. Then add drapes to the window.

I would like to do the large wall on the left (so there's more pop with the design), but I feel it would be out there on it's own....like I would have to wrap the wallpaper around to the window wall and then to the wall on the right (thus, basically the whole room). Although, perhaps I'm wrong. I can't really imagine it without a visual.

Oh, that does look nice (the first photo), thank you for the visual! Perhaps I will explore long drapes with the left wall wallpapered.

UPDATE: The (potential) wallpaper was delivered today. It has slightly more silver

to it (but still some light brown) and it is quite metallic. I am still interested in exploring the option of using it but perhaps if I put it on the large wall, it would be too much!

I love it for the wall with the window, to me it's a bit cleaner and slicker feeling compared to drapes and the fold that drapes have. to me, wallpaper gives a different look and feel from drapes.

Like the drum light, especially with the table and its matching metal chair legs. Might consider painting the other chair legs (legs only) black, too.

Like the large unframed art on the left wall. If you're going to wallpaper the end wall, would definitely remove all the art from that wall.

Also, if you're seeking to have the wall papered wall be an accent wall, you may well need to remove that rug from the room. As of right now, that rug (not a fan) grabs all the attention.

Like the "gather" wall sculpture. You might consider it over the arch of the door in the adjoining room -- to be visible before you enter the dining room.

Just read the update. If you truly like the wall paper and still want to use it, you might consider adding a white chair rail to the dining room walls and add your wallpaper to the exterior wall only above the chair rail.

You might also add sheers to the dining room window to soften the impact of the wall paper even more.

Theresa Janssen, yes, for some reason I am drawn to the window wall. Maybe it's because it has more lines and definite corners and it would be just enough "pop" for the space.

I think the window wall (your original thought) would look good - let’s see it before you install art.

I love wallpaper on a small wall with windows, it draws your eye into the room.

Would not wallpaper the larger side wall.

Would leave the plantation shutters on the dining room window.

While I like the pattern of wall paper you've chosen (as wallpaper goes, anyway), I actually prefer the idea of covering the walls beside the window with drapes -- covering only the walls and the side frames of the windows while leaving the glass (and natural light) visible. Drapes will be far easier to change as your taste change.

Probably would not wallpaper the ceiling but, do you have a wall in a hallway that needs the metallic to lighten it up a bit -- perhaps one too narrow to add pictures without risk of bumping a shoulder into a picture?

If you ordered enough paper, I would suggest adding to the large wall and add drapery instead on window wall

I also have this wall looking from the window wall into the living room and next to the kitchen entrance on the left side. But I'm still leaning towards wallpapering the window wall so it's more of a focal point.

just a thought... maybe use the same wallpaper as your entry since you can see from one end of the house to the other, I get it though if you want something different.

Hmmm, good thought Theresa Janssen! I think I would like something different. I don't mind variety in my space.

If you like and plan to keep the rug, then that wallpaper doesn't work at all--too elegant and fancy to connect to an animal rug and the style of table you have. One of the traps you're falling into is adding too many smaller elements to the room, which compromise the very bold lines of your table and your rug.

Look how coherent this room looks with an animal skin rug, great table, fabulous pendant, and a bold painting nearby echoing the rug. This is a good direction to go in with your modern furniture--bold and simple.

housegal200, thanks for your thoughts! I do plan to change out the light at some point. I'm such a visual person, I am having trouble actually seeing how the wallpaper could look without putting it up. This is my hold-up, once I start wallpapering, I'm (somewhat) committed.

If you have enough of it to risk a few pin holes, perhaps you could hang a length of your wall paper on one side of the window with tacks to get a better visual.

UPDATE: I am very pleased with how this turned out, mainly because the design isn't overwhelming but still provides a little pizzazz(!) in the small space. Thanks for your comments and ideas! Now I would like to replace the light fixture with something simpler and perhaps replace the painting with a horizontal mirror (otherwise I will frame the painting).

Looks great! I really like the painting on the adjacent wall too and might be the angle of the photo but it looks a little high - your guests will all be seated in that room - recommend hanging it at “gallery” viewing height: “Hang Artwork at Eye Level: A common mistake when it comes to art installation is hanging pieces neck-craningly high. Do what museums do: Keep artwork at eye level. A good rule of thumb is to hang art so that its midpoint is between 57 and 60 inches from the floor. Aim for the lower end of the range if most members of your household are on the short side; in rooms with ceilings higher than eight feet, artwork can be hung a little higher than 60 inches off the floor. Once you pick the midpoint, stick with it for consistency. For a grouping of works, simply envision the collection as one piece of art.”
