I'm sure quite a bit of us are getting some of that heat...

Which got me thinking about the replies from some regulars on the -pull the mulch back- and stick ur finger in to check soil moisture etc...

HA, I ventured out right now , as it's hotter than hades and just put a knuckle in - did not go 4 inches but more like still in mulch territory as I was curious....felt bone dry but I know the soil is moist underneath. Not sure about today, but in general with regular watering/weather patterns.

Never did a soil moisture test by checking . I let the plants tell me, and I adjust how long the emitters run based on that. All leaves still look perky and some are showng minor signs of heat fatigue wilt. Not due to lack of water in the soil, just the sun exposure...

Am I the only one who's not checking below the -mulch- and 4 inches below.
