We are doing renovations all over the house and are starting to begin the basement. We are removing the half wall so we can expand our workout area. Then we are replacing the carpet with luxury vinyl planks. We had originally wanted to remove the popcorn ceiling throughout but properly won’t due to the price. Instead we are going to fill in with more popcorn where the wall was and then fix other areas that need it and paint.

My question is, what do people do for the ductwork? We had a designer say smooth and we can afford to smooth it out for that area. Will smooth ductwork with the rest popcorn look good? We aren’t sure what to do
