I really like the look of SMUG and MEMPHIS looks really good. I can see why you have enjoyed it this season. I love the ruffled edge on it and how it becomes darker pink toward the edge.

Nice! Smug is really pretty. Tides Roll In and Dearest Valentine both catch my eye. We just added Waves Become Wings. It's not the color I usually go for so it remains to be seen if we will like it. We added this spring when Melanie Mason was having her big sale. It was so cheap we had to try it since it is registered as a late. I must say, I am impressed by the height of the scape it put up after just being planted.

Just goes to show you everyone has different tastes. I like Dearest Valentine when it's not so dark a rose. I think the shade it is in your picture is very pretty......Different shade of pink, but I like Last Chance For Romance too. Acknowledged it's not my favored form, but just to look that nice this late is a plus............Maryl

Ooh Smug is really beautiful. And Memphis too, two of my favorites. Dearest Valentine looks good like this too. We had a cooler night and I couldn't recognize some of mine, so much darker. Love the red shade of Fighting Fire and the coloring on Crintonic Rain Dances. I am surprised that your Final Touch still hasn't started. Mine started a week ago. But then we do have a very short season here..

Can’t believe I forgot about Smug, I was quite impressed with it last season, still like it a lot. I’m glad you posted a Last Chance for Romance, it was a late addition here last fall, didn’t do much.

Hoosier Nan - Waves Becomes Wings is always a good performing late here. It should do well for you.

Sherry - Last Chance for Romance is one that takes a couple of years to get going, but then forms a large clump and performs well. So give it some time, and I think it will reward you.

Nat - I was thinking Final Touch might be blooming later because it was shaded by tall grass and the neighbor's screened trampoline in May and June. But I have three fans of it in a pot, and they're very late too. Maybe it was the late freezes we had.

Maryl - I'm glad you like the lighter version of Dearest Valentine. With the kind of heat you regularly have, I would think it would be mostly lighter for you.

For those of you who like Smug, I had hoped to get it in the ground this Spring, but there was too much rain and I was unable to vacate Odds and Ends from the place I wanted to plant it. I hope I'll be able to make that happen this fall. I think it would perform so much better in the ground.

Smug still looks to have a lot of buds even in a pot. I remember liking it when you posted it in the past. The Ultimate Sacrifice blooms are still so pretty!!

I am surprised at the number of buds on Smug since your growing in a pot. As always Debra, gorgeous photos.

Smug always catches my eye, but these are all so nice to be blooming now. Final Touch has not even scaped here, usually not this late so it may be taking a year off.

Kate and Julia - Smug really doesn't have many buds. I think the buds in back of it are on two scapes. Bud count on each of four fans is only 7 this year. In the past two years bud count was 11-13. The registered bud count is 15. I imagine it would do much better in the ground. I don't water the pots regularly and they are in more shade now.
