I don't like any of your options.

In your last photo where you drew the table and chairs, I would put the pergola right over that.

That would provide shade over people who are eating there.

I like your inspiration picture. I’d add the pergola off the house by the sliding doors. Consider adding a built in bbq at the far end, where you drew the seating area in pic #3 to really deliver on your inspiration pic.

I love your idea. Have you measured how far out from the house your pergola needs to be to fit a table and enough room behind the row of chairs to walk out the sliders?

Please don’t cut the house vertically with a painted stripe because it will look like a garden apartment or duplex.

I haven’t measured exactly yet, just drew on the patio and trying to get a good design at the moment :)

attach a header to the house and build out from that. We've done a few of them on our own house, and on our rental. it's very similar to your set up

this was midway through and will give you an idea of the attachment of the wood to the header

obviously this is a deck for the master, but if you wanted to do two separate patio covers, you could do that as well.

also too, you'll need to get metal footings to protect the wood from the concrete base. This is for a concrete slab:

you set the post in these (prevents water damage)

post base basically looks like this.

you can also do a built up post base like this too.

for the patio cover on the side of our house, we did the base footings

since you're not on a concrete slab, you may have set some footers into the dirt
