Cream puffs aren't healthy, what the heck are you eating that for. Oh geeze that does sound good. Sooooooooooo, you never called for back up, how did you make out today.
That must be the reason for the cream puff, Candace. :)
Ok, we can wait robin, just remember, it's almost 11pm here. And I'm an old, old, old 46 year old. Old.

I caved at Safeway today. Bought two... Ate one before supper but now I'm too full of quinoa, cheese and broccoli to even try to eat the bad stuff. Probably a good thing.

I decided that instead of dredging up stuff that happened two weeks ago, I'm going to let it ride for right now but I'm prepared to say something if things go sideways again. It's not how I wanted it to be, but I think it may be for the best... today wasn't too bad of a day. And sorry Candace... this time the rain was not my doing.
Well, ggod night all, until tomorrow.

kimdee be forewarned, if they replace any siding (especially if it's anything other than white) it's near impossible to match the colour. What might appear to match now, might not be a matching piece a year from now, unfortunately siding fades. It will be a struggle to get them to redo the entire side but might be worth mentioning and noting if needed in the future.

Speaking of eavestroughing, I need to find a contractor to come and install a length of it across the front of my upper deck. Every time it rains, the pitch of the deck creates a waterfall effect onto the lower patio. Between my place and the attached neighbour, we are looking at probably 60 feet of continuous gutter, plus I have to (should really) have the downspouts tied into the existing downspout that drains into the weeping tile and pumped out to the lake in back. Probably going to be costly... but worth it, I think.
Oooohhh... good to remember Candace. I am hoping it matches, since it's only a year old, but I guess color lots and fading might be a factor. I'll keep an eye on them tomorrow.

Goodnight Angela! Sweet dreams!!! (almost done!!!)
Hmm, so it rained on a day that you worked, maybe you've dropped the curse. This weekend looks real good, I hope you have it off. Honestly, I remember an entire summer where every day I had off it rained. Even my 2 weeks off in June was rain, rain, rain, every friggen day was rain.

    Night Angela

Well, it's my Friday/Saturday night tour... (shoot me now). Chances are it'll be nice. I get off at 6am on Sunday morning so if the weather holds out till the end of the day Monday, I'll be happy.

    Good night ladies!
Good night lovelies! I'm up for a little while yet. This is the first time today I haven't been surrounded by people, and I'm enjoying the quiet.
Morning all - whoever of you are still up. This time difference sucks!!

Michele - love your scraggle, I just might borrow that. Surprised spell check didn't have other ideas.

Don't know if I could handle naughty moose, I have enough trouble with the two tame lorikeets, they balance on my patio chair RIGHT AT THE BACK DOOR!!! I had to be so careful when the grands were here.

Candace you are almost psychic - both names wrong but eerily close. You won't guess. The last few days I though we may have been trading spring with your fall, 24 deg is ridiculous, but winter has returned to day with a vengeance.

Kd - keep practicing those dumb looks, they are invaluable when dealing with males. If you run out of ideas just check into the Bold and the Beautiful, that show is all about 'looks'. Someone one time did a whole skit based on them - not a word was said but it was understood perfectly.
I am here Roo as always.
Good morning, Ms Roo! Yes, different looks can really get a point across. This was more of a "I'm going to give you a minute to realize what you just said to me, and give you a chance to amend your thinking...." kind of look. Effective. I think I'll keep it in my repertoire!

What's on your agenda today? Feeling better, I hope?
Hi, Angela and Kd - my good standby buddies. I have a "would you like to think about that" look I use often, especially on BH. I am still laughing about yesterday. He has his spreadsheet all done and printed out ready to go. ONE WEEK TO GO!!!!!

Really cold today, yikes it is only 12 deg that isn't good for the middle of the day and there is a biting wind blowing too. OK, according to the weather report it "feels like" 9 deg and the was a forecast last night of winds from the Antartic. Interesting it is 80% humidity - love winter when you don't feel that. I think I will just be pottering.
Roo-one of the reason that I moved to FL, was I cannot and will not take the cold. I remember coming from Jamaica and my family moved to CT. It was the first time that I wore pants in my entire life.

I lived in Massachusetts from 2004 to 2009, the only thing that I hated there was the cold.
Your BH story had me chuckling for a long time, I hope he doesn't lose his spreadsheet during his trip, I would hate to think of the outfits that might occur... lol

It wasn't a very nice day here today either. Rainy. Again. Really this has not been a great summer for weather. I'm not sure what we did to deserve it, after the winter we had, but I guess Mother Nature thinks that we shouldn't have summer after all.

CT - Connecticut?? I'm still trying to get the hang of all these. That looks a lovely place to live, I love the look of the whole New England area, charming old buildings and autumn scenes to die for but snow - forget it. I could not live in snow, but I doubt I could survive a Florida summer, I think your humidity is worse than ours. Our winter average is about 16 deg which is 60 in your language, so we really have nothing to complain about and it is such a relief from the heat and humidity of summer, that just leaves me a limp mess.
    Yes, Roo-sorry again.
I have half of my brothers and sister still living there, the pay is better up there. I went there last Christmas and it was so cold, did not leave the house for days. I am okay with visiting for a few days. Yes FL is kind of bad, but would not want to have it any other way.
His spreadsheet will be on his computer, which he is taking so he can print it out any time. In any case Gdd will probably change everything anyway, but at least I won't have to look at it. Actually everytime I come on here today and see Michel's opening picture with the hairdos, it cracks me up even more. Thank heavens he still has hair, I don't think I could handle that as well.

We had a summer like that last year, it just rained and rained for months. I didn't mind it, at least it didn't get really hot, it was a very tolerable summer. It just made getting out quite difficult though, the rain was very heavy and we got a lot of localised flooding.

It has been a rainy one this season too, but I will take rain over hurricane any day.

I had dinner at my dad's tonight, as we had a young lady from Taiwan in town visiting. Her company builds some of the products we sell, and she was saying how they travel to Japan each year in the winter time to see the snow... and how excited they get to experience it. We were telling her just how much snow we get here in the winter and how we can't wait for our winter vacations to get out of it and into someplace warm and sunny. She was delightful, I'm glad I got the chance to meet her.

I could happily live someplace that never got snow -- I figure I could always go to the snow if I really wanted to. I'm betting that I would never want to.

There aren't many safe places over there are there. Hurricanes on the East, tornadoes in the middle and earthquakes on the West. I don't know what would freak me out most - plus all the sink holes that are suddenly appearing.
Not much happens in Canada really, aside from the snow. Unless you're in Vancouver, they get the odd earthquake but nothing serious, so far.
That is how I feel, I am okay now with just visiting. Talking with my friend in Boston, told her that I might come out in November. I am planning a trip to Atlanta, GA for the school break. Wanted to go to NC but not this trip.
I would have thought Taiwan would have got snow. Maybe being an Island the water currents keep it milder. I remember 4 glorious hours stuck in Taiwan because of a fire in the airport terminal. Coming in to land we were told we weren't to look out the windows or take photos and on arrival had these little men all in white, full head covering, breathing apparatus, the works, running around the plane. When I calmed down I realised they were only fumigating the plane (and us). Then we were shunted into the terminal surrounded by soldiers with machine guns before they moved us to another huge room, no windows, all white walls and concrete floors and fed us Maccas - Chinese style. I was terrified we would never get out of there. Eventually we did and flew onto Seoul where we were again greeted by the military and machine guns. I think that was the year I turned grey.

We do have ski fields here, about 4 - 5 hours drive south of Sydney. If you are an enthusiast you go every winter or many head over to New Zealand. The show-offs go to Aspen or Verbier. Most people are happy to go to the beach.

Angela, I have never been to Jamaica, but some of my family is trying to plan a family trip there in 2016. Such a long way away but I will definitely go if I can.
Wow, that was quite a Taiwan experience! What were they fumigating for? I don't blame you for being anxious. I never saw a real machine gun until I traveled to Mexico for the first time. It was definitely alarming.
I could definitely handle a tropical island for a holiday.

Kd, I was thinking about your stylist during the night, I think as I get older I raise my standards higher and expect more from people. If I were in your shoes and he hit on me, I wouldn't mess around, I would give him a well practiced "look" and tell him you don't mix business with pleasure and value his professional services too much. I know hairdressers and bartenders are considered listening posts for woes, but he really has no right to ask you any personal questions either.
Bugs I guess, I think it was pretty standard practice back then.

The only thing I cursed there was beautiful cloisonne things in the gift shop, I would have loved some pieces but the shop was closed because of the fire. Didn't see anything half as nice anywhere else.
Kimdee-you should go, not because I am from there but it is a beautiful little country.

He doesn't so much hit on me, as he tells me personal things about his life that I really think should be left alone. But he seems to talk about his divorce with all his clients, and he doesn't seem to have much of a filter. We were talking about something totally benign, and then suddenly he's telling me about how some woman was on stage with him while he was singing (he has a band) and touching his butt, or something to that effect, and how uncomfortable he was, blah blah... i just change the subject, "oh wow... the color (of my hair) looks really good..." Someday maybe I'll have the nerve to just flat out tell him that his comments are making ME uncomfortable. I'm sorry, but I don't want to think, or hear, about my hair stylist's dating adventures or sex life. Awkward.

Angela -- I will definitely go one day!

Yes. We do, I see some lovely things that I'm just trying to reach in and grab. Just can't. Seem to. Get my aaaaaarm in faaaaaaaaaar enough. Whew. I'll have to bring one if those long handled clamp things, then you'll be missing a few things!!
Love the paint color and the small sconce, like my ikea pendant. :)
It looks like a cozy place to be, love the whites and touches of blue and tiny pops of red. What kind of house do live in ? I know you're in Dorset, where I haven't been. But would like to. Haven't been over to UK in a few years now. :(
I have family in Suffolk, where I practically grew up. Gainsborough country, very pretty. If you've ever seen paintings by Clive Madgewick, you know how it looks too. :)
Thank you for sharing pictures. I love it when everyone posts bits of their home on this thread. Makes me feel like we are a bit closer, and you can sort of picture where your friends are as they chat with you. Don't be scarce, one plan, come visit often. :)

kd - your message from 21 hours ago finally came through.

Find the courage to tell him he is making you uncomfortable - when he is saying how uncomfortable he is, that is a perfect lead in. He is probably making all his clients uncomfortable and if he continues he won't have a business. You will be doing him a favour by speaking out.
