Ida, I’m pretty sure these are not the kind of solar lanterns you’re talking about. My neighbor gave them to me. My first thought was “They‘re not exactly my style” but I’ve really enjoyed looking out there and seeing them at night! The butterflies change color.

I like those! I had some very similar in the garden of my previous home that were also given to me - in the shape of little hummingbirds - and like you, at first I thought "hmmm, these aren't really 'my thing'", but I grew to love them! Someone else loved them too, as one night they disappeared from my bed, and I surprised myself by missing their sweet little colorful glow! I may need some for my current garden.

I've bought some with Edison bulbs but Rich won't put them up☹ looks really cool in your yard.

Lesli, like Bob, Rich has built a lot of things for your garden. One of the easier chores was stringing the lights.

Once he saw how much they add to the ambiance of the garden he strung five 25 ft. strands. You can see in the photo below how he put cables between trees on which to hang them.

The light they cast is gentle and not as bright as the iPhone camera picks up but plenty to stroll by and even have a party! After all this staying home I’m ready...
