Paint the brick?

Controversial question, I know.

The brick is is good condition, except for the back side of the house where the previous owner drove through the garage and they did a DIY mortar fix.

We've come a long way since we bought it, new trim/fascia/soffit, updated front door, power washed, painted garage, new LP siding on the sides. (see first picture when we bought it, then 2 pics a few days ago)

This Autumn, I'm planting ornamental grass.

What are the thoughts around painting the brick an Urbane Bronze type of color to pop the limestone?

Should we add a gable over the front door down the road or ideas around updating the steps to the front door? Maybe something like covering the cement w/ a cedar style porch.

I wouldn’t paint the brick or add a gable. Front door and windows look great. Consider black MCM house numbers vertically placed. Landscaping will be your best investment.

I would not paint the brick. I think I would paint front door and add landscaping to the front. it's looking so much better already

I would not paint the brick. It has a nice MCM vibe to it now. I think the overhang gives you enough protection at the door. I think a gable would ruin the horizontal line.

Please do not paint the brick, which has a lot of texture and color. And don't add architectural geegaws to a house that has the MCM vibe. You'll just get a remuddle. Put your money into great landscaping to enhance your very nice brick/stone house.
