You are lucky to have so many opening well with night temps that low. I like your three seedlings and Party Pinafore the best. Our overnight temps have been 66 here the last two nights, and some with heavy edges didn't want to open right here. I sure like the color you get on Flying Carpet. Mine always looks like a beige pink in our heat. I'm moving it out this month.

We will be in mid-50s. Another reason why lates have their pitfalls. If it's not hot and dry, there are cold nights.

Hard to even imagine those temps this time of the year in my climate! But you are correct-they certainly lead to darker blooms. Your seedlings are lovely and Party Pinafore is such a pretty color. And you still have lots of clump blooms!

Debra, Flying Carpet was light beige until a few days ago. Every year I think about eliminating it because it opens late, flowers are very small, but there are worse things I still keep )) Yesterday we cut the tree down and they will get more sun now. Too bad a big log rolled over and flattened several of them, including FC, oops.

Mantis, that's true, plus the foliage looks bad at this time of year, but usually beginning of August is still hot.

Kay, that's what I said, these temps belong in the fall.
