I love the table, so I'd keep it. Can you post a pic of the chairs and the art you want to keep? Biggest thing - I'd find a new spot for the bookcases. They overwhelm the room. Long draperies would really help to accent the beautiful window.

Those recessed lights really pop out. Can you update them to LED?

I have BM Storm in my dinning room and really like it. But you might want to shop for draperies first. I hung red toile de Jouy. Something like that would look nice in your space.

Thank you for you suggestion. I’m not sure if they are LED or not. I have them on a dimmer switch and put them on bright for the picture. I’ll check your gray out!

I have two of the grayish script chairs and four of wooden chairs, that I’m willing to paint. Here’s the art piece I have.

The two types of chairs are fighting each other. Also, you say you want light farmhouse and the upholstered chairs don't look like that. I am confused regarding what your design direction is.

Love the art. Here's what I'd do - add curtains. I like this pattern with your art...

Paint your walls a soft creamy white - match the color in the background of the curtains. A soft gold or greyish green would also be nice.

Move the two bookshelves to the back wall (where your art currently hangs).

Move the buffet to the other wall and place an upholstered chair on each side of it.

For a fixture, I think I'd do something like this - make sure you hang it the proper distance from the table (general rule of thumb is to 36 inches above your table or 72 inches off the floor.

And then add something simple and green in the center of the table:

I think Sammie J has the right idea for your space. The bookcases are crowding that beautiful window. The lovely fabric she suggested will really brighten the space.

Sammie J, Thank you for your ideas. I moved the bookshelves to the niche wall and I like them there. I think I need to paint the interior of the shelves a lighter color. Searching for draperies and a new light fixture now. The current wall color is SW Ball & Twine. I see green, but no one else does! I actually have a gallon of one shade lighter paint, SW Maison Blanche, which is more of a cream color. I’ll decide my drapery first. Thanks again!

You are very skilled at tablescapes - beautiful. Would you mind posting a picture where we see the room and the far wall is perfectly centered? I understand you moved your bookcases there.

Willing to get rid of the bookshelves or repaint them also. The table can be extended into an oval, but because of its age it needs a tablecloth due to leafs that are not stained the same color. Also willing to replace or paint the chairs.

That’s definitely different! I do love those chairs, drapes, and chandelier, but perhaps in a bronze or black tone. The layout gives me a good perspective. I think the walls are too wild for me though. Thank you for this new idea! I’m open for all ideas!
