Lois, I purchased one this year and planted it next to my screened porch which we sit out on almost daily, weather permitting. I understand it is a night blooming flower. When does yours open? Deer may not be so active at that time. Mine is small and probably take 4-5 years to bloom prolifically.......sigh

Mine blooms during the day. It get tons of sun. Maybe that makes a difference?

they're wonderful..mine bloomed a few years ago but not last year or this year (yet)..it's getting shaded out by the shrub next to it..but where do I put it?..that was my best spot..

I have mine planted in a nice, sunny spot. It was small when I got it in autumn 2017. It finally grew a lot more this year. Next year, I think I will get to smell a true plantaginea flower.

Deer tend to eat my Plantagenia blossoms every August. I need to go out and see if the hostas are not yet blooming, or if the plants did bloom and the damn deer ate them before any white showed up for me to see. I'll report back.
