Relocating an Air Exchanger

We have an air exchanger in our basement bathroom. We'd like to move the air exchanger unit into our laundry room, to hide the unit and cut back on the noise. Our laundry room is adjacent to our bathroom and our ceiling hasn't been installed. It seems like an easy relocation, but is there anything we need to know before moving it? Also, I imagine we'll need about ten feet of tubing (sorry, I don't know the technical term for the big silver tubes). Can that just be added to what we have, or do we need to replace it all or a portion of the tubes in the ceilling? Also, is this something we can do ourselves or do we need an expert?
