Reminds me of a storage headboard. Put your bed against it and use the bump out like a console table, lighting, art, etc on it. kinda like this picture:

Book shelves above it. Maybe two sets of book shelves with a mirror between, using the ledge as a dresser top with lamps, a plant or something decorative. Or put a couch in front of it with lamps on it (like a console table). Looks too deep for the head of your bed but if you cover it with wood, you should be able to make it look nice.

I studied the picture for a long time till I figured out that there’s a mattress setting on top of the “jutting out foundation.” i thought it was really weird for sure. 😁
