Definitely not scindapsus. I was thinking some type of agleonema or homalomena but I cant' really find a match. It's really pretty whatever it is. Can you go back to the store and look for another one that still has its label? I'll be following this discussion because I do want to know what it is!

And, unless you live somewhere more or less tropical, it’s a houseplant.

Oh gosh, I wish they told you the exact variety. Because there is agleonema and Homalomena which is

DescriptionAdelonema (very close similar names). I do know that in your part of the world Homalomenas are much more common than they are here. Here they are sort of in the "unusual" not so easy to find category. But they are becoming much more popular.

i go to the garden store weekly so i will keep an eye out if they get any new stock and ask one of the more "senior" staff members if they know the exact species of the mystery Agleonema

Popmama i just stumbled upon Adelonema Wallisii and it looks very very similar to mine. But I can't tell if this variety has burgundy stems and underside of leaves like mine does?

I totally agree! I saw that Wallisi too and did think it was similar but didn't see as much red under the leaf as yours. So I kind of ruled it out. But maybe the red varies. I suspect you do have Adelonema rather than Agleonema. In the U.S. we refer to the Adelonema as Homalomena. And they are not super-common here. Just starting to gain popularity. Let me know if you get a positive / full ID!

Wow thank you so much! I have never even heard of this plant. Now that could be my own naivete but may also be due to them just not being super popular here in the U.S. I can't wait to see if I can find one!

So far my search here only shows results in Australia. You get all the good stuff! Haha.
