Spa Refurbishment

My husband and I purchased our house, which was built in the 70’s, about 4 years ago. There have been 3 owners after the original owners. Recently, we took on the task of tearing down a 14 ft by 14 ft deck that was starting to have structural issues because of being built with untreated wood. We were in for a pleasant surprise when we revealed a concrete deck AND an in-ground spa that had been filled in with dirt. I want to refurbish it so bad but the husband is hesitant. I was able to find original owners and they stated that the spa was put in at the same time the pool was and was in perfect working condition when they sold the house in the late 90’s. I know it would be hard to know what you are dealing with until we dug out all of the dirt but wondering if It would be cost efficient to refurbish it. The only reason I am hesitant is because if could possible be a money pit, we may just leave the settled dirt and concrete it in. I have attached photos. Of course this is after we did a lot of work to clean the slab and area. Opinions and thoughts appreciated.
