Wolf warming drawer installation problem

I just had a Wolf warming drawer installed on our island. It is the middle drawer of a 3 drawer stack. It has a cabinet front, but the way it was installed (by a certified installer), it sticks out about 1/2 inch from the other cabinets. The installer indicated that the GC might need to inset the warming drawer into the cabinet, which would mean cutting the cabinet.
Does anyone have experience with this? Is this a design defect?The way it looks now is not acceptable.
