Following successive record breaking summer heat events over here, for the first time ever my H syriacus ‘Red Heart’ has produced a seedling. I know this is a common, indeed annoying, occurrence in the USA but it’s a first for me. So, what does your experience tell you about the likely colour of the offspring’s bloom? Do they tend to revert to mucky purples or could I get a white one? Or do you pull them all before you find out?😉 I’ll grow it on anyway but I’m just musing on what the outcome might be. Btw it’s currently a breezy 61f here today with intermittent showers. The hot spells are not universal. But the average is definitely creeping up.
