Let's Dance Big Dance

I just noticed this new 2021 variety (you can pre-order on the PW website).

Claim to fame: larger blooms, survives winter better and reblooms better. It does not define "better". Height/width = 30 inches (0.76 meters). Warning: new so there is no way to tell if the claims will hold up.

I don't think I would want a bigger bloom . My LD blooms were at least 9-10 inches methinks.

I now see what rebloomers are...blooms are just slowly developing/opening as the heat winds down - its now about a 5 inch round. In spring, it was like one day foliage and then in a blink of a eye, the bloom fully open. However, it's only on 1 brand new stem that is new growth that is also a good 12 inches higher than the rest of the canopy. Looks wise, it's kinda weird. Full sized shrubs full of aged blooms, and then the single lonely new one, that is also has it's stem 12 inches higher, kinda like the little rascals alfalfa of shrubs.

I guess it was wishful thinking seeing something develop on the laterals on the leaves. Whatever that -developing- was.
