"My kids put their laundry in it and forget about it." What happens to the laundry? You bring it downstairs to do? If your kids are of age to do their own laundry, do you want them to use this laundry room?

If not, what functional space do you need? A powder room? An office? A larger bedroom? A reading nook? How large is the space and what's adjoining? Pros will ask for a floor plan or pictures. Your lifestyle is what drives how you use your house.

The space is off of the upstairs hallway next to a large upstairs loft area that our kids use as a gaming room/hangout. We have a powder room up there. Could be a reading nook, but I"m afraid that would not get used, either. Thinking maybe a small art room. I need to find some examples. Thanks!

Second floor laundry is a great feature if the house supports it. Can you keep it and just use it for storage for now?

Yes ultimately we would keep the function or ability to change it back into a laundry room if and when we sell the house - I’m Looking for what we could use it for right now while we are living in it.We do have plenty of storage. I don’t really want it to end up being an area to collect more crap if you know what I mean!

If it were my house it would be a sauna.

Why not just leave it for now if you don’t have the need for anything else and convert it to something else if and when the need arises? Not sure the rush to change if no one can identify a new purpose for it. I would personally love an extra closet or dedicated home office.

Well, if the dirty laundry creates a mess, I'd hate to think of the mess in an art room!

I think an extra laundry room is such a great idea, I'm going to be no use for you and your issue, haha.

You could just put a lock on the door.

The kids will get older, and show more interest/capability when it comes to laundry. I wouldn't get rid of the machines.
