Dining Room Design Advice Please

Hello Designers, I desperately need advice on what to do with my dining room. I love my table and I have had for many years. But I just don't know how to make it work in this room. I'm open to all ideas and pictures to help me make a decision. I was thinking last night maybe I should paint it or have it stained another color. I would love to have a sideboard. The table is so big it dormant the room so it would have to be something long and narrow. Right now I'm just lost and need help. I have looked at other post but still nothing is registering with me. Also, a family member suggested getting rid of it. So, after that commend I decided to come here and ask for help. Thank you for taking the time to help me. I have tried to take different pictures. I hope this helps.

I appreciate and welcome all suggestions.

You could change out the chairs and keep the table. Maybe look at some chairs with the same feet but different backs. Also are the chairs and table real wood that can be striped and restained? I'd also consider that option.

Add a table cloth that goes all the way to the floor and change the chairs to something less chunky .

You may need a larger piece of glass for the table. It is difficult to tell from your pictures, though. But in one pic it seems like glass top might be a bit small for table base. If you did get a larger top, make sure it is tempered glass and same thickness as glass you have now.

I think the table and chairs are fine, style-wise. I would just add an updated chandelier - and one that is a bit larger than what you have now.

I love all the great ideas. Thanks you all so much. The table glass is really large. I will get someone to look at for me to see if its real wood. It's a heavy set. I'm not sure.

I too think the table and chairs can stay, and the lighting fixture should be switched to a chandelier in a style more complementary to the dining set.

What about changing the color of the set? I have been looking at Dixie Bella colors. Any suggestions. This is such a beautiful set. I know I have to be careful in changing the color. Just an idea!

Adding to much tan can make a room seem dull and outdated, you have a gorgeous table what i would do is add some greenery, such as an artificial green wall. The green really makes tan pop and it will give the room a warm but crisp feelingUpscapers

Good Morning, I ended up painting my table and in a Toasted Oat. Here are pictures of chairs and table. Just finished table. My question now is what color fabric should I put on chairs and should I cover just the bottom cushion or whole chair to give a more elegant look. Also, I'm thinking of maybe getting a 46 inch glass top instead of putting the 60 inch back on it. It takes up the whole room almost. Also, attaching a picture that I'm going to put on my smaller wall. Any suggestions! On colors on wall colors and fabric will be greatly appreciated. From last messages I was really inspired to make this change so far. Thank you again!

Mark out the smaller size of top and check if it will work for sitting at the table. It looks to me like it will put your knees into the base.
