Can you stop a supplier from refunding a contractor for materials

I think my contractor is trying to screw me. I paid for materials, he came and tore apart my yard and hasn’t done a lot since. Many excuses. I had him add an addendum to contract to include a deadline date. That deadline is 10 days away, and there is no chance he will be close to completing the job by then. He was doing some work, but has gone MIA again due to “family issues”.

I know where all the materials are, and have personally visualized the order myself. Can I stop the supplier from refunding the contractor for the materials if he does try to skip on the project? Any other ideas?

I assume when you say you paid for materials, you mean you paid your contractor who then bought the materials from the supplier (rather than you buying the materials directly). In that case I don't see how you can stop the supplier refunding the contractor. It is a contract or agreement between the two of them. You can certainly talk to the supplier, but I see no legal basis to stop them refunding your contractor.

Not really. I wish I could come up with something more constructive, but your contract is with the contractor, so that means the solution has to he between you and him. Either by coming to some sort of agreement or via the legal process.
