Curious to know what you ended up getting. We have the same question.

Haven’t decided yet. I like the Simpson look better but have been concerned about poor finishes on the samples I have seen (glue on the panes for example). I have not yet managed to find a Trustile sample. Have you seen one?

I know your post is from well over a year ago, but we are looking at both Trustile and Simpson exterior double front entry doors. Paint grade for both. What did you end up with, were both comparable in price and are you satisfied with the end result?

We ended up going with Simpson. We got a custom Nantucket design with the higher grade wood and finishes (I forget the exact specs). It is pretty nice, we get a lot of compliments on it even though the design is simple colonial. It has good heft and a nice thud when it closes. But the finish isn’t perfect which is a bit disappointing. For example, there are slivers of unfinished wood in the glass framing, and there is no way to paint or prime those spots retroactively. Also in the raised wood panels there are some corners that weren’t smoothed out perfectly, there is some grain that is not flat. Also the rubber at the bottom of the door where it meets the sill is already fraying after 6 months but that might be an issue with installation. Those flaws are upsetting given the price we paid, but the door installers said it wasn’t the worst they have seen.

FYI I ended up not finding seller
for a similar quality Trustile I was
told they are exiting that business but not really sure.
