Front door paint color?

We are remodeling our home and the finished product will be a blend of mid-century modern and contemporary. The overall look we are going for is casual but classy with some mid-century touches such as walnut lower cabinets in our kitchen.

Our first choice for front door color was a champagne metallic finish, basically a muted silver with a touch of gold. However we are finding it challenging to find an appropriate paint. Our front doors will be fiberglass with a large frosted glass pane and brushed stainless hardware. Our GC suggested auto paint and we are currently exploring that. Any ideas on a metallic paint that will hold up on fiberglass outdoors? Our front door is under an overhang and doesn’t get much exposure to the elements. Do you know if we need a special process for applying metallic paint? Our GC said he has never painted a front door with anything other than regular exterior paint, which he typically sprays on.

If the metallic paint idea doesn’t work out, we are considering teal, purple, or orange. We are using turquoise/teal in our main living and dining area quite a bit, with purple, lime and orange in our artwork and accents. Walls will be white. Our back patio furniture, which will be visible when the front door is open, is orange, gray and white.

We don’t want our front door to look too “kitschy” but we don’t want a boring color either. Our exterior house color is off white, kind of like a Swiss Coffee color.
