Your door is wonderful. I think you need to think about changing the steps and railing though. This really needs some work to make it look cohesive.

Your front door is awesome, I love it. the color works with the brick white and blue . Perhaps you could refresh the stain, otherwise a blue to match your trim color. is there any way that you could stain or use masonry paint on the cement at the base of the house under your brick. a reddish brown like your brick would look great and give continuity to the house. a very simple modern screen door could look good if you can find one.

Take the knocker off and fill in the holes. It looks a little silly being that hight. Storm door has to go. Handle needs to be replaced with something more modern. Also, you need to budget for some landscaping. The good news is that this can be a dynamite looking house when you're finished.

As far as the patio, left of the door, does that mean, looking at the house head-on, that left side?

Love the door just the way it is! Very Frank Lloyd Wright, Light wood stair rail would look better in treated wood of course, as in photo. Do you think it would be possible to continue the theme with treated light stained wood around the window frames, too?

Larger vertical house numbers... change railing, stain concrete steps...

If you want a new color, I'd recommend a deep saffron or mustard yellow. And I agree with the knocker being too high, I think it should be lower than the window. Not sure where to find more mid-century doorknob and knocker, and the light fixture needs to be changed as well.

I would add a porch on the right side of the photograph, where the steps are. I like the idea of a small portico over the door and roof over the porch.

Charming house! I agree that if there is a $budget I would add a front porch! Keep the footprint same size as front peaked roof line (top triangle). Be sure to make it at least 6 ft. in depth and add a triangle top roof as well for front of new porch roof. With a grey existing house roof and your brick I can see going traditional with white trim and white porch rails. Then do add grey for porch floor and front door.

I wouldn't change that door in any way! It really needs to be protected. I'd use a full lite black storm, and paint all the trim black. You could build a covered entry with portholes and etching on the side to match the front door.
I'm a little confused by the front walkway and assume by the railing the original steps ran along the side of the house. The walkway should be made straight, and the railing removed. Bluestone landing and steps would look nice with the brick.

How about painting the door red?

I thought about the color for the door last night and realized that yellow ocher would be the perfect color for it. Black or dark green-brown would look nice for trim color.

Yup- takes a lot of years for that color to turn right!
