My life with really tall people sugests you tile higher than what is shown. Where do the splash marks end after a shower? If you sell you may sell to really tall people.

Tile to the ceiling and use frameless glass door. It will really open up the space and make it appear larger than what it really is. Good luck!

Glass instead of a curtain makes any bathroom seem bigger.

I’d use subway and go up about another foot and paint wall the same color for a nicer transition. If your budget doesn’t allow for glass, move rod up to where tile ends and add longer, double shower curtains for a nice look.

IMO larger tile means fewer grout llines and as far as how high fir the tile i think that depends somewhat on your style so maybe a bit more info. A nice glass shower screen will be ahuge improvement and if that is the old style shallow tub then a nice new soaker would be awesome if you actually need the tub.

Angelica’s inspiration photos are pretty convincing around going to the ceiling. A modest priced tile would allow you to do that.
