Kitchen color scheme selection

Help please! I am not able to make a decision on the EVP flooring and cabinet color combination. The builder has only a few choices with granite and I want to stick with a granite countertop. I use a lot of cast iron pans and don't want to ruin a quartz countertop by accident. The combinations available are:

Neutral oak floor - Linen or stone color cabinets

Oyster oak - Linen or Espresso

Cinnamon walnut - slate or linen

Marina - Slate or linen

Hire a designer. Or include way way more pictures and information in your post. Then be prepared for 37 different and conflicting opinions that just confuse you more. Hire a designer.

Celadon, I just want to know which floor color and cabinet color options will complement each other. They seem so different at the design center than when viewed on a large scale. We had chosen a combo from a model kitchen at the design center only to realize later that the countertop is quartz. The other choices are not available on a large scale.

    The cabinets are from Timberlake.

Hire a designer. You don’t do this on an Internet post, without enough info to even begin the process. Not unless you don’t care about the result. You might as well throw darts at it then, and save posting.

Celadon: How is this line of questioning any different than the other thousand questions people have asked. If you don't have any opinion, move along.

Gomathy, have you tried a flooring visualizer? Also, if you google it like this: Oyster oak flooring in kitchen, then go to images, you will see many examples that will help. Good luck!

Kayozzy Thanks! I checked the flooring company's website but I am not able to visualize it in the grand scheme. They have different floorings laid out across different rooms but it isn't enough for me. Will a light colored floor go with white cabinets. The granite will have specks of brown. Or should I choose a espresso for the cabinets?

I don't place it for a long time but for a few seconds before I put something under. We have granite now and I haven't damaged it but have never used quartz before. After reading through many discussions on here, I just thought granite has a better chance. My kid has just started doing things on his own as well in the kitchen:-) I will try to post pictures. Thank you!

    Just use a trivet.
Save the cost of new counters and/or years of therapy after the kid learning how to cook accidentally wrecks the priceless countertops.

Go to a different flooring companies website and just choose flooring with a similar color. Lumber Liquidators. You can upload a picture of your room. I think light flooring looks great with white cabinets.

Thank you kayozzy! That's what I was trying to get at. Most of the colors offered are light and I want a white cabinet. We are not doing the hardware yet as I don't like what the choices offered.

Thor, I use them but I have to find something large to cover the workspace for when kid is cooking.

Good to hear you are encouraging a budding cook!

Another possibility is to take photos of the pieces you are interested in.
Include a white sheet of paper - or a gray card if you have one - to color correct the images.
