Why do you feel you need anything besides the blind? I would lok at getting a nicer light fixture and hung much lower and some chairs that suit the table and forget the curtain . Maybe the chairs in a color

They're horizontal blinds. : ) I agree, either nothing or maybe a faux roman.

@shadylady2u lol yes meant to write horizontal. I didn't like the look of nothing but never considered a faux roman.

@Connie Stackhouse looks good! I agree and will be adding more color in the kitchen. I know that having nothing on the window or removing the blinds is what people are doing however I need the window treatment to be functional for my family and to look good. I've seen blinds paired with other window treatments in kitchens before and it's looked great I'm just not sure what would look good in this space.

With so much going on up top, I think tall (you’d probably need a custom height) cafe curtains would look good. Depending on your decor style, you could use a wrap around curtain rod like this one:

I like the idea of a Roman/folded shade, too. Something curved to break up the square shapes.

We just made a padded cornice board for over ourhorizontal blinds to keep it simple

. I know they are not “in vogue” right now, but if you can find a modern fabric that goes with the rest of the room, it might work.
