Converted 2nd BR—Advice Needed!

Hello! I rent an apartment & have a spare bedroom that I turned into a “getting ready room”/walk-in closet. I am not very good with decorating or design, though. I am looking for advice on how to fill the space on the two blank walls in the second photo.

I would also like to clear off the boxes above the shelves in the first photo, and I’d like to find a way to nicely and neatly display my smaller handbags/clutches which are not shown in the photos.

Can anyone make any suggestions? I greatly appreciate any input or insights. :) Thank you!

IMO too many little things not really connected , it looks like there is a closet in the space what are you using that for. That makeup table is really not useful full of all that stuff. I would do a Pax system on the shoe wall for my clothes and the closet for off season clothes suit cases and those boxes. A nice shoe rack where that low chest is by the door that would all get rid of the little stuff scattered around then the make up table needs to either go or be set up to do makeup. Since this is where you get ready you need a full length mirror maybe on the closet door . You also need a blind since you have a window and a lot better lighting so a wall scnce that actually lights the room and that cahndeier replaced with a good track light system with LEDS in all fixtures 4000K.

    Hi Patricia,
Thank you kindly for your insights. I greatly appreciate it!

I see what you’re saying & definitely agree— too many little things. The closet off to the side is where I store some of my clothes. There are 2 racks in there. The rest are stored in my bedroom closet. That closet also stores my “stuff” (suitcases, boxes, travel stuff, art stuff, work stuff, sneakers/flip-flops, etc.), so it gets its use.

The low white chest by the door actually conceals my two kitty litter boxes LOL. There is no other place in my apartment that will fit them (trust me, I’ve looked, & also looked at other concealing furniture). I definitely want to cover them & that wall is the only place they work. I’m having trouble finding a way to decorate the wall above it, however. Especially with the ugly sconce stuck off-center on the wall. I will definitely add a full-length mirror to the closet door, so thank you!

I use my makeup table every day but it is definitely overly cluttered. :/ Thank you for your insights on the lighting as well! Unfortunately, the only lighting this room comes with are the wall sconce & the window. As a renter, I’m not permitted to install new lighting. I actually purchased the chandelier last year & had it re-wired to be plugged in to the wall to abide by my lease. I think a track lighting system would be off-limits as per my lease (oh, the downfalls of renting...). One thing I am permitted to do is paint the room which I did when I moved in. It was previously white. Do you think I should paint it a different shade to brighten it up since I am stuck on lighting?

Thank you again for taking the time to review my room & provide insights.
