Lots of monarchs now. I've got 9 chrysalis in my enclosure. Got a pic of this beautiful gal's chrysalis right before she eclosed this morning. I was hoping to get a short video of her emerging but she was too quick.Note: I didn't notice it at first, but if you enlarge the pic of the butterfly (see third pic below) you can see that hemolymph (blood) is still being pumped through the wing veins to inflate them.

That's a wonderful sequence of pictures. One of the best I've seen.

Good luck! One made it’s chrysalis right in front of my door today, maybe I will catch this one in time. Predators have been really terrible lately though. Especially the anchor stink bugs and these tiny wasps. I asked on a different forum if these wasps can still get into a chrysalis after it formed more than a day before. Apparently they can. 2 weeks or so later at least 50 emerged. Guess that’s why you are raising them inside. It’s heartbreaking to watch at times what happens “in the wild”.
