Hi Tori. Sorry about your plant stress! I'm no expert but it looks pretty healthy from you pics. That stuff near the roots and a little of the tips turning yellow is normal. New growth is gonna slow this time of year. You're good not watering until it's dry. Not sure about the curling. Maybe it needs a warm up like you said. Put it right next to that NE facing window in your room, if you haven't already. Good luck with your sweet plant. :)

I think your palm looks healthy. It has some signs of stress but it’s not dying. No where near dying. I scorched mine with some direct sunlight and that damage is permanent to the leaves but the plant has rebounded quickly once I corrected the problem. The bottom of the “trunks” look healthy. You’re doing great.

That brown dry thing in your photo looks like a shedded lower leaf - totally natural and part of the growing process.

As for the tips of your palm..maybe the air is a little dry inside your house.

Make sure it's not too close to air vents- hot or cold air, and keep it moist.
