Mask alternative/gift idea

Ida's gift thread and fairy mask reminded me of this pattern for a scarf/mask I had seen. It is a pattern, so you need to sew (even hand sewing or possibly fusible tape would work), but I plan to make several for holiday gifts. Seems like a nice alternative for cooler weather.

There are a number of YouTube videos with free instructions to make similar scarf masks.

Cute. But make sure to take the candle test. If you can’t blow out the candle wearing it, you are good to do. My daughter was a bit worried about our fabric face masks (with filters). She was huffing and puffing. Glasses fogging up, but the flame didn’t budge.

Only problem is FOLLOW THE SCIENCE. These types of masks they have proven are about the same protection as not wearing one at all...so all you have is the irritation of mask wearing.
