Have you given any thought to painting the floor with a stencil? Rugs in entryways always present a problem with "walking". Painted designs look cleaner and present a real sense of your personal style because you designed the color/design match up with your own style in mind. Why have a rug or runner that 5000 other people have when you can have a one of a kind work of art that truly represents you? See attached photos for a couple of ideas.

Love the stencil painting. You can buy theam at art and craft stores. I would use a bright cobalt blue. It goes well with terracotta.

Thanks for the idea, I never thought of that. Not sure if I could do it. (My Daughter is the artist, maybe she could help me.) Would I paint the entire floor one color first, and the stencil, or just stencil over the floor the way it is? These both look great, but difficult....
