I have never heard of Smad until you posted your question. A look at their website provides this information, "Qingdao Smad Electric Appliances Co., Ltd. (SMAD) was established in 2006. Personally I would be wary of purchasing a major appliance from a relatively new brand like Smad if for no other reason than a repair network and supply of repair parts is likely not there.

It appears to be the same as these Midea, Verona, and Sharp refrigerators. Owners seem to like them. Looks like you could save $250 if you bought the Midea MRQ23B4ABS.

wdccruis - Thank you for finding that. I read completely through those reviews and they seemed kinda fake? I would actually save $1000 from the price of the Kitchenaid if I purchased the Smad. However now that I read the reviews on the Midea, I am torn. The Midea does look identical. What Steve A said makes sense - I may have an impossible time getting parts/repairs.

I guess I don't want to save $1000 at the risk of throwing $2500 away.

Hello Carlos, marketing manager of Smad. I am thinking of ordering a refrigerator from Amazon. Just like every one here, I like the design and features listed but can’t find customer reviews. How can you make me comfortable ordering this today?

Whatever you select, you want a guaranteed delivery date, in writing. Bosch (and many others) has had marked delays for some appliances, due to Covid. Make absolutely sure you can cancel without penalty. and then order elsewhere, if you're getting repeated delays and need the refrigerator soon. Also keep in mind that refrigerator handles can be changed out, if you're willing to research/pay the price.
