It’s difficult to place a rug where the seating areas are so disjointed. It appears that you have the TV and one love seat in the dining area, under the overhead light fixture, no less. Have you considered re-arranging the furniture to create a more cohesive seating arrangement around the fireplace, with the TV over the fireplace?

You need to rearrange your furniture before thinking about rug placement. Move the TV next to the fireplace, where your loveseat is currently. It's hard to tell from your photos, but you should be able to use your sofa and loveseat in an L configuration, either near the front of the house or the dining area, leaving the chair and ottoman as a secondary seating area near your front window, or toward the back wall. It depends on how much room you have to walk behind the furniture near your front door and that separating wall.

the lone sofa over by itself looks odd.

    can you rearrange your furniture?

    maybe move the tv?

put super big chair over in the corner by tv.

move tv to the right of fireplace.

situate loveseat and other white sofa around fireplace.

or try moving tv on this wall above console, move sofas over to this end.

something needs to be tweaked. The way you have it now is not good, and looks unbalanced.

stand over in the corner by the floor lamp and shoot a picture of the other end of the room, and what's opposite the fireplace

    We are new to house
They used it as living dining room as you can tell by the light fixture
My couch and sofa are too big for area
I have rearranged it so many times and can’t get something I am happy with

    Tv is just temp there
We will get rid of soon and get one to hang on wall

What's the primary activity that happens in these two spaces? Do you have a formal dining room where the chandelier can go? Loveseats are often the culprit when a space can't be properly arranged. How many people do you need to seat daily? Is the chair a favorite of someone? How often does the love get sat in? The masculine chair, console table and hassock/table seem to go together while the sofas appear shabby chic. Is this a recently blended household of his & her furniture? You could do a "his TV area" and a "her sitting room. You're not ready to pick a rug yet.

Does the Love seat fit where the windows are? Instead of the chair?

Any configuration of an L for sofa and loveseat doesn’t work really. It’s a real dilemma

Loveseats are the bane of good seating arrangements. In your foyer, I would move the rug toward the front door so it isn't actually under the console table and leaves a clear path through the space from whatever is on the right to the living room on the left. You might be able to turn the rug the other direction as well. Overall, I would prefer the TV right of the FP (above a low credenza) and the seating arranged evenly in front of the FP if it won't block the traffic flow from the foyer through to the kitchen. This may require using the love somewhere else, like at the foot of the master bed. Then I would get a dining table and chairs for the chandy area.

These are pics with the love seat in front of window
Really a tough room to stage
I really thought I could repurpose this area rather than have a living/dining as previous owners had. They had a love seat and 2 chairs by fireplace and a dining room where you see their light fixture still there.
That tv is temporarily there. We will eventually get a new one for the wall. And that black console will go way with tv

We hardly ever use this area except for the front door and office is to the right of the front door when you come in
We have a very large family room where we do most of our living
I love my white couch and sofa so much ( bought it for our last home where it got perfectly)
We are eventually going to change all floors with wide plank LVP
Need to figure out this area first.
You are all right not ready for a rug until
I can figure out the space
