You have 4 pictures and yet a lot of details aren't exposed. This is a pattern. Most of the genera you show have multiple species in Texas. This article is geared towards the asters, Symphyotruchum, Ionactis, ect, but it's a good model of how to take meaningful photos. Most of your specimens are in Asteraceae anyway. If you want species IDs then follow this tutorial. 😀❤

Looking at Google photos of B. halimifolia it looks like it has much wider leaves than your plant. My Google app says B. sarothroides and after looking through every species in Texas, I have to agree. I can't be 100% sure tho because a few Baccharis species are very similar, and a closer look would be needed. Baccharis sarothroides?

But I would agree, Baccharis sarothroides (Desert Broom) does seem like a much closer match due to its much thinner leaves...

OK, correction...someone else had the same plant ID'd relatively locally as Baccharis neglecta (Poverty Weed). So, that seems like the actual positive ID.

They both are similar. I think the larger leaves on your plant have yellowed and are hard to see, but they point more to neglecta, I think. My google ID app suggested both sarothroides and neglecta. New Deal Weed, Roosevelt Weed. Wonder why it's called poverty weed?
