That’s a pretty cabinet. I was wondering how deep it is. I was also wondering if that 48 inch opening includes the molding. If so your cabinet is a little too big. I’m wondering if the cabinet and lamp & the mirror is just too much for that small space although I like your plan. It would be a very attractive set up.

A great looking piece of art centered 5' above the floor, and no more than 75% of the entire wall's width (including trim) would be a good option.

It's 48" inside the molding. I really need light there at night. Would you recommend any other console/cabinet? Thanks for your input.

Based on the little bits of your home shown in the photos it's clear you have amazing taste! However, I'm not sure adding a console table is the way to go - just feels like too small of a space. I see there is an outlet behind the plant. What about having an electrician mount a light right above, especially if the goal is more light??

I’d look for another style and one that is narrower, adding a low lamp if you wish. Also consider a bench and add a light over art or an attractive ceiling fixture on a dimmer

Although highly unlikely, I'd worry about someone throwing your door wide open when entering, risking damage to a table/lamp. What about a narrow table that consumers no more than 75% of that width? I'd also seek a slimmer lamp/shade (or 2 ) with LED bulb(s). If you need a mirror to bounce light, consider a round or small starburst effect frame, measuring no more than 24". Of course, you can always place boxes(or cut outs) in this space to see what works. It gives a 3D effect, making choices simpler.
