Drooping rose vine

I transplanted 2 rose vines 2 days ago. I cut around the root ball a month ago to redirect the root growth and make it easier to transplant but did not cut the canes. I checked it yesterday morning and it looked fine but last night it was drooping and still is this morning. I gave it transplanting fertilizer which I'm reading now is bad this close to winter. I want to fix it before it gets worse., any suggestions? I want to avoid cutting the canes so the focus is on growing roots not new chutes. I'm open to suggestions
