Wild Strawberries as Ground Cover

Hello,

I posted in the perennials category before I discovered this one specific to groundcovers (sorry).

I'm in zone 7b with sandy soil.

The current issue of The Old Farmers Almanac suggests using wild strawberries as ground cover

I need lots of ground cover in the spring and I've got tons of it growing in a confined area perfect for transplanting (plus it's free)!

I've researched positive and negative issues about using wild strawberries. The one big negative is it's invasive habit. The positives such as being a natural ground cover, being free and tolerant, for me, seem to outweigh negatives.

thoughts??
