Shouldn’t this work on a slanted ceiling?

Hello! I was looking for lighting for our living room and dining table area, I found a couple that matched that I liked from Pottery Barn, but description says cannot be used on a slanted ceiling. I’m looking at the pic and I feel like it would be okay since it should be able to hang down any direction from how the pole is attached. Has anyone out there hung up a chandelier that says not for slanted ceilings? A pic of the chandelier is attached. Any thoughts or advice?? Thank you!

I would heed the manufacturer's restriction. While it looks like the design would let the chandelier hang straight down, it changes the direction of force (gravity) on the canopy. You no longer have a weight pulling straight down on the canopy, but sideways. And it sounds like the fixture isn't designed for that, so it may not have sufficient strength in that direction.
