growing figs from unripened figs?

I have several figs on my tree/bush that haven't ripened yet and it seems like the fig wasp has left the area. Would these grow into fig plants if I planted them in a pot and kept it inside till the spring? Would it be better to leave it outside here is Southeast Coastal Georgia where our typical winter temperatures don't get below freezing for more than a day. Do I have a chance to grow my own fig trees?

First of all, your figs would have to be ripe to produce viable seeds.

But even then, it gets tricky. For example, figuring out how to select female trees.

Thanks so much for that information. It was worth a shot! I'll talk to my friend who may have experience in grafting and see if we can do that. Thanks again.

Also, keep in mind figs are very easy to propagate by rooting cuttings. Sounds like a great winter project!
