What bug/ beetle is this???

I started seeing this bug in late summer. It it’s not aggressive. It tends to hold onto the screens on my porch/windows or land on plants and furniture in the yard. It’s slow moving. I don’t recall seeing this bug before so would like an ID. It’s not as big as a quarter, but bigger than a penny.

It's a shield bug, aka stink bug or pentatomid. There are many species but they all kind of have that look. Yours could be a brown marmorated stink bug. They're considered invasive pests (although most stink bugs can be problems).

They probe into plants and suck out liquids, causing deformities and wilting and spread of plant diseases. Your insect does have a key feature of the marmorated stink bug, the white segments on the antennae.
