Auntie Ez-I had the rug inside the front door and just decided to move it outside so it was perfect.

@eztia-The funny thing was that it was a cheap find at Ross. I am happy to reuse things now so than before.

There. Accomplished something today. Got the shed cleaned out and the truck loaded with the garbage to take to the dump tomorrow. Also cut back the pumpkins only to discover the tomatoes are really what's out of control. But that's ok... I love homegrown tomatoes.

    Hi everyone,

Michelle, you still at the pool?

Huge thunderstorm expected tonight, except for losing internet in the storm, I can't wait!!!!!. Spent the day boating at the lake, it was just beautiful outside:) Came home, had a delicious bbq. Great weekend all in all :)

Nice entry Angela, nice space to sit and watch the world go by.

I am sitting on my bed. And I am not staying up. Last night up until 3:30, no way tonight. I'm signing off at 10:30 and hope to be asleep at 10:35. Pool was great today, beach was packed. Tomorrow should be better beach day. Can't wait. Also did some gardening and more laundry, where does it all come from????? More visitors coming at the end of week. Better enjoy the next few days of quiet. What's shaking besides a possible storm, is that going to affect you too Robin?
Candace BBQ ribeye tonight with corn. No homemade coleslaw for me or salad. I can only have that at lunchtime, heartburn city baby.

Thanks Candace and thanks Michele again.

Ribeye here too, bbq corn, garlic toast and tomatoes with bocconchini and fresh basil. I'm stuffed but I made room for one Heineken :) Your lucky to have the option of beach or pool. All I can hope for is the boat launch lady actually does her job and only lets 25 watercraft. There's no campground on the lake and maybe 10 day use picnic sites. I wish they would raise the price at the launch and parking lot so fewer would try to get on. I know that probably sounds awful but sometimes theres so many people on the water it's just dangerous and we park the boat in the lift and stay clear. Actually many people that live at the lake have to do that.

Severe thunderstorm watch in effect for Edmonton too. That's ok though. It can rain at night. I just need it to be nice during the day so I can get those raised beds done.

Candace - when is the basement happening again?

They said they're digging Tuesday. Wednesday, Thursday is framing/cribbing for the foundation to be poured Friday/Saturday, i think.....But come to think of it, they didn't mention which week LOL. I can't believe i'm laughing about this, guess it's either laughing or crying and I've done that too. My problem is I have NO PATIENCE!!!!

I had BBQ ribeye tonight also, Candace & Michele. With baked potato.

My dog is next door at the neighbours. Visiting. Getting fed probably. My dog has a better social life than I do.
Just add some time on in your mind and you won't be so shocked.
Not you kimdee, that was for Candace and her big dig. Maybe you should take the dog someplace in town and let her? Introduce you to someone cute who will feed you both? A little dinner with dog in tow?
Michelle, I have LOL. They said ti will be ready no later that July 15th. I told the kids Sept 15 and my Mom that it will be ready for Christmas 2014!!!!!! That hopefully, should keep them all from calling every day to see what the hold up is. I'm anal out things like that being perfect but like things done as fast as lightening and those two just don't coincide.

Candace -- have you noticed the dragonflies? How big and fat they are? One was just outside the window, and he's so big he makes a thumping noise against the glass. When we were on the 9th tee box today, there were HUNDREDS of them, flying all around us. Must be full of mosquitos....

No vacation this summer. Just my regular 4 days off. I've 2 more sets of days off after this (I'm on first day off right now). Too many projects and not enough time!!!
Holy crap, the wind has really picked up and there's thunder :) Ya baby, the house is cooling off quickly.

Kimdee, yes I have noticed there huge, like 747 size. I had one hit my arm while I was breaking a land speed record on 16. It actually hurt!!!!

Robin, you can't get it all done in such a short amount of time. You need to have a break too :)

    Michelle back at ya.

Ez, did someone open the Houzz bar on Saturday night?
I've got to take my stupid self to bed now, have a good night everyone. :)
    Night Michelle.

This storm is crazy. Satellite signal for the tv is lost just a matter of time before the internet signal is down too.
Night everyone -- storm is just starting up here I think... lightning and thunder but n... oh, that was a good flash and thunder.... I guess it's here.
Night kimdee, the rain will soon follow the lightening and thunder by the bucketful's.
I can hear it in the distance but nothing close by here.

    I'm sure it will come.
Wooooowwwwwww.... heck of a storm... hail... wind and heavy rain. Flash, flash, flash.... crazy!
Ok. Battening down the hatches here. I can hear it getting closer. Stay safe.
    You too, Robin.

I am trying to wait on Roo tonight.
Geez... it's been storming for an hour tonight... and just now the rain has lightened up, but still wicked lightning and thunder. It was raining so hard it sounded like hail against the window, and I couldn't see across the street. I hope all my patio cushions are still out there.
Hi, Angela, sounds like I might have timed things well.
Good morning, Ms Roo! (afternoon maybe already?) Hope you are well, and feeling better today. xoxo
  • 13 years ago
    Hi Roo, how are you.
    Be careful Kimdee
It's pretty much over now, Angela. But I haven't seen a storm like that for a long time. the lightning was so FAT and it just kept flashing over and over.

    Sweet dreams!

I am pleased to report I finally had a full night's sleep last night so I am almost back to dangerous. I love the sound of your storms, although I don't know if I would really like to experience one. Our day started off very hot (especially for August) but by lunch time the clouds had come over and it is really really windy. At least is has dried my washing very quickly.

Angela, your garden has come up well. Did you find the Dynamic Lifter? It might sell under a different name over there.
Roo- no Dynamic lifter here but I got the one that is popular here. Cannot think of the name right now.
    Night Kimdee.
Ms Roo, I wish I could fully describe it... Nothing short of awesome -- loud and bright. There was a lot of energy in that cell and it was pretty slow moving. It's still grumbling away but it's moving off now I think. Glad to hear you slept well and are getting your zip back. See you in my morning. xo

Angela - Did a google search and found this

    http://www.dynamiclifterindia.com/history.html
  • 13 years ago
Oh, I did not know that - just discovered it is basically all chook poo. That is funny because my second suggestion would have been chook poo, stinks the neighbourhood out for a few days but I keep watering it in well each day and it goes.
KD - forgot to ask, do you watch the pro golf at all? I was just amazed at the guy who is leading the current tournament (forgotten his name) who put such a backspin on the ball it changed direction and went at least 6 feet back into the hole. I just sat there with my mouth open.
    What is chook poo, Roo.
    Ummmmmm..... what chickens do
    Roo- oh ok
Ms Roo -- the pros are amazing! I don't know how they do some of the the things they do. I sometimes get spin on my ball but I sure don't know how to do it on purpose, and never like that.

Storm is pretty much over... still raining and a bit of lightning and thunder but for some reason, the dog is freaking out. She was just fine when it was at its worst, but now she's awake and panting and keeping me from sleeping.

My mom used to amend her garden with manure (cow poo, Angela) sometimes. And fish oil. Omg. Stinky.
Wondered what you were still doing up. I get a bit thingy when animals behave strangely, they know things we don't.

Been blowing a gale here all afternoon and it has suddenly stopped. Getting dark now and it often does that when night starts to fall. Clouds are almost gone too, so we would have been getting some sunshine.

DD's partner is a golf tragic and even he just sat there amazed at this shot. He played golf two consecutive days this week and played so well on the second day he has decided he needs to play two days a week. Like you, he has his own business so can often work at night - with DD's approval of course.

Golf is probably a bit like tennis, I could put a spin on a ball when I wasn't trying, but no matter how much my coach tried to show me, it just never came off like the pros' shots. I had one really tricky shot that was always a winner, I always received on the backhand court, but someone had to really serve hard and low to me on my forehand for me to pull it off. Somehow I would flick that ball so the curve it had on it across to the forehand court was amazing and it would roll along the net cord before dropping over. No one was ever anywhere near it to be able to get to it but it was so close to the net and barely bounced, it would have been impossible anyway. Wish I could have worked it out - I could have bottled it and made my fortune.

I've used fish oil on my indoor plants - supposed to be really good and there are odourless ones now. We have used cow from time to time but chicken is so much better. We did have a problem with one lot once though, the chickens must have been eating seeds of a weed that then took over our lawn and garden one season. It was a spreading type of weed but luckily it was a really easy one to pull out and we rarely see it now.
Golf is a lot like tennis actually. I used to play junior tournament tennis in my teens. Once, I played against someone much older than me, who told me after the game that I put such spin on my backhand shot that it was next to impossible to return. No idea how I did that either. I miss tennis. My first knee injury ended my tennis career at age 16. It's too bad, because I was pretty good at it, though I started too late to get anywhere with it seriously. By the time I had rehabbed, I discovered that boys and hanging out with my friends was more fun than practice at 6am. Honestly, with golf.... spin is a bonus... most of the time I'm happy to hit the green and be close to the pin. My short game isn't always reliable.

Dog seems to have settled down. I guess I'll go back to bed and see if she's ready to sleep for real now.
