and you want to paint it the same blue? what you could do is go a few shades lighter blue.

please consider a new window blind. that mini blind w/the hanging lever thing is so bulky looking.

do a slim type of shade or a cordless roman blind or something.

or, don't do a blind at all. (do you really need one? ) stick in a stained glass insert over the window instead of a blind

they will fit right over the window (you can have one made, or find a close size and have a little frame build around it so it will fit.

Thanks for the suggestions! Yes, I definitely should make the blinds less bulky and more streamlined. with the paint, I should clarify I'm painting over the blue. I want a more neutral color so leaning towards Benjamin Stone Harbor. However, rather than having to tape across to make a straight line for the transition, I'm considering painting everything (wall right up and across the ceiling) the new color.

honestly though, the white ceiling isn't bad either. just take your time and paint the joint portion carefully with a smaller brush.

Get a prettier light to hang from the ceiling

but that window is the first thing I'd handle after the paint!

if it's just right there, I'd go a few shades lighter than stone harbor on the ceiling

instead of a bright white, try the gray mist on the ceiling.

won't be such a contrast, but it won't make it too dark.

here's stone harbor w/brighr light and it's still a darker color. make sure you get a new light
