the poly tunnel has a propane heater which keep temps around 9-12 degrees. it maybe lack of water. I’ll give it a little water. It has spread over the last few weeks. do you think it’s black Sigatoka? or fasarium oxysporum? Thanks for the suggestion :)

no no none of those diseases where you live. I've grown them for 7+ years. it shouldn't be anything serious. Those temps are keep them dormant. So seeing some damage will be common as time goes on. where are you located and what are the temps outside?

Thanks for the reply :) I do have other varieties ie gros Michel, blue java and other fruiting varieties. So was worried they brought a disease in with them. I’m in the UK

the temp outside is varied from -1 to 15 degrees celcius.

I am in Zone 5b growing mine in a greenhouse which is zone 10A. I do grow other types. right now I have Dwarf orinoco, Manzano (apple ) and Pisang Ceylon. I have grown quite a few other in the past as well.

sounds like a nice collection. the one I'm after next is Musa aeae. super rare to find

Not to disappoint or discourage but I wouldn't waste the money or energy with them. unless you live in south florida or a zone 10 A near impossible to get them big nevermind fruit. They are very cool tho.

I didn't know that they are that difficult to grow. I'm in the UK which unfortunately isn't Florida. i guess that explains why they are so rare. why are they so tricky? out of curiousity

Yea and like you said rare. It's the way they are bred don't do well with cooler weather some are and some are not.

how about Musa dang florida? its also variegated. have you grown an aeae before? i saw an aeae not too long ago for about £500. so expensive

Anything variegated like that need much nicer weaher to do anything. Oh that's crazy I used to be on a banana site and 10 years ago people would sell them for prices up there.

I look on a site called bananas.org and people are crazy for them. but no suppliers have them in the EU or US. bananas are more common in the US. but the shipping normally kills them. shame as variegated looks so nice.
