I love a good accent wall. However, an important caveat is not to have too many elements competing for attention. I always say "max 3" and frankly, the archways are already at least one very prominent element--and for me they are the architectural element to celebrate. If you are going to paint the dining room, I'd recommend the whole room.

Rentals are best (like home sales) in neutrals. If you insist on having an accent wall, go with two shades darker than the wall color. Color is a very personal thing. A color that one person loves will be a color that another person can't stand.

I don't like mirrors in dining rooms. Who wants to watch themselves eat? LOL. Replace the mirror with some art from a local artist.
