I keep looking at these, Fred, and am enjoying how high they carry the flowers, how upright. That's one of my complaints about amaryllises that have heavy flowers (some of the doubles, for instance, and some that are just plain old big): they seem to droop too early, for me. I display them on higher tables, and as I'm a shorty myself, it's okay. But yours would sure solve that problem. I would like to see more hybridizers working for stronger flower stems.

Have you had this sort of experience fairly consistently with seedlings from this cross?

Hi Joan,
I have a number of aulicum crosses coming along but haven't flowered yet. The ones I'm impatiently waiting to see are the aulicum x papilio crosses. I've seen these crosses on this group and they look very promising with strong well held flowers and wonderful markings. Hopefully soon when they flower, I share pictures of them with the group.
