I bought some Ponytail Palm seeds which I would like to let germinate. I did some research on the internet, found a few approaches, so I would like to ask a few questions in case I misunderstoodstood something.

I read that Ponytail Palm seeds have a tough coating, so it's good to put them in water and let them soak for 12-24 hours. Is here something to beware of, or something that can decrease the chance of sprouting?

After that most articles suggested, that the seeds should be put between soaked paper towels and left there up to 14 days. How often should be the towels re-soaked and what is the mark, that the seeds can be put to the soil?

I would really appreciate it if someone shared their insights into the process or corrected me about some of the information.
