Any tips for me?

That looks like a very healthy plant. You're off to a great start. Are the blooms fragrant on this variety? Best of luck with it. I hope it give you many years of enjoyment.

Good question, Bill! I'm not sure if they are fragrant. I mostly am interested in hoyas for their foliage. The blooms are a bonus. So far in my home nummaroloides blooms a lot and has a strong, strange frangrace. The other two that I have seen bloom for me, carnosa and multiflora, don't seem to have much fragrance.

Popmama - I have both carnosa (south window) and multifloria (a single stem) which sits in a south eastern window. The have both bloomed but neither one has any fragrance that I can detect. The multifloria blooms constantly! I have several more peduncles on it again and probably by mid to late December it will again be covered in blooms. I have to put plastice under it because it drips like crazy! I always thought ants hibernated in the winter, but when this plant starts dripping, them seem to materialize out of nowhere to feast on the nectar. I have to admit, I've tried it too and it is extremely sweet.

I have a lacanosa, again sitting in an easter/ southeastern window and it is setting peduncles all over. I received it last April as two little cuttings, and it has grown tremendously over the summer outside. Now that it's been moved inside, it's getting ready to bloom. I can't wait because I understand these are very fragrant.

I also have several dracinias, which when they grow too large I chop them up and restart the stems. I'm up to five now. When they bloom, and they do so reliably for me every year, my entire house smells of their perfume. The scent at night is amazing. I really love it.

another blooming plant is my orchid brassola (queen of the night). I've had her for probably 20 years, if not more, and once she starts her blooming cycle over the winter, you'd think you were living in Maui! talk about a strong perfume from such a little blossom - these plants are amazing.

I understand what you're saying about the foliage, as it too is an attraction for me. some day I'll come across a callistophyilia, at a reasonable price, which I feel is the ultimate in beautiful foliage.

And despite growing mostly for their foliage, I definitely go around inspecting my hoyas for peduncles all the time. It's so exciting to see one. Heck I get excited over a new leaf too.
